Welcome to Joyful Waters

Instilling water confidence and swim safety skills, delivered with trust, praise and respect.

At Joyful Waters, we believe that learning to love and respect water starts at a young age. Our programs are designed to create a positive, nurturing environment where children can build water confidence, learn essential water safety skills, and develop a lifelong love for swimming. We use a child-led, Montessori-inspired approach to ensure each child’s developmental needs are met, making every class a fun, stress-free experience for both the child and their caregiver.

What We Offer:

Unlike traditional infant survival programs, Joyful Waters is focused on water exploration, enjoyment, and safety. Our goal is not to teach survival skills in a high-stress environment, but to build a solid foundation of water confidence and safety awareness that will grow as your child progresses.

We offer two distinct programs for different developmental stages:

First Splash (for babies 6-15 months): This introductory class is all about fostering a positive first experience with water. Parents and babies will explore water together in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere. The focus is on building trust, water confidence, and safety awareness—ensuring that babies feel comfortable in the water with their caregivers.

Aqua Explorers (for toddlers 16-36 months): This program builds upon the foundation laid in First Splash. Toddlers will have the opportunity to develop basic swimming movements, water safety skills, and breath control in a fun and engaging setting. While still emphasizing a nurturing approach, Aqua Explorers encourages greater independence and introduces essential skills for the next steps in water safety and swimming.

Why Joyful Waters?

Our approach prioritizes emotional well-being, water safety, and a positive, supportive environment that respects each child’s developmental stage. We strongly encourage parental involvement, as it helps reinforce the water safety principles taught in class, making for a more well-rounded learning experience.

At Joyful Waters, we’re not focused on survival techniques or rushed progress; instead, we aim to build confidence, create positive associations with water, and ensure a fun, safe learning journey for every child.

First Splash:

Baby Swim Classes (6-15 months)

First Splash at Georgia Swim School is designed to introduce babies (6-15 months) to water in a calm, supportive environment. This class focuses on building water confidence, trust, and safety awareness, with an emphasis on creating a positive first experience in the water. Parents or caregivers join their babies in the water to help foster comfort, connection, and enjoyment. First Splash provides a fun, low-pressure setting to develop early water skills, laying the foundation for future swimming lessons.

Aqua Explorers:

Toddler Swim Classes (16-36 months)

Aqua Explorers at Georgia Swim School is designed for toddlers (16-36 months) to build upon their early water experiences. This class focuses on developing essential swimming skills, water safety, and breath control in a fun, supportive environment. Toddlers will gain confidence and independence in the water, while parents continue to play an active role in reinforcing safety and skills. Aqua Explorers helps create positive water associations while preparing little swimmers for more advanced swimming techniques.

Three Ways to Experience Joyful Waters

Three Delivery Methods

At Joyful Waters, we offer flexible options to help your child learn to love and respect the water at their own pace. Our program can be delivered in three different formats to best suit your schedule, availability, and learning style.

The Ideal Approach (3-5 times per week for 6 weeks)
The best way to experience the Joyful Waters curriculum is to attend classes 3 to 5 times a week for a duration of 6 consecutive weeks. This immersive approach allows your child to progress through the stages more quickly and consistently. Due to pool usage and instructor availability, we typically offer this format during the summer months. This is the designed structure for optimal results, ensuring your child builds a solid foundation in water confidence and safety.

Private, One-on-One Lessons
We understand that every family’s schedule is different. That’s why we also offer private one-on-one lessons with a certified Joyful Waters instructor. These individual sessions can be scheduled as frequently as you and the instructor can arrange, providing the flexibility to work at your child’s own pace. We believe in mastering each stage before progressing, so while it may take a bit longer, this option still achieves the same great results.

Parent-Child Program
For those who prefer to be more hands-on in their child’s learning journey, we offer a parent-child program. In this format, we meet weekly to introduce new skills for the week. You and your child will then practice those skills together on your own—aiming for 3 to 5 practice sessions between each class. This method encourages parent involvement and gives you the tools to support your child’s progress at home, fostering a deep connection with both the water and their growth.
